Mirror & Lights - Winter Table Design

Christmas may be over, but beautiful winter lights should last until spring.

Using an old mirror with a frame as a reflective tray, I added sparkling glass jars, fake white snow (Epsom salt), tealights, silver wire balls, a white tree, a rustic metal angel, and a Christmas ornament house that has built in lights that change colors.

This winter scene tableau rests in the place of honor where we dine. The lights - reflective, burning, and battery - add illumination and beauty to short daylight hours.

Easy. Peaceful.

Wine Barrel = Lighted Christmas Decoration

You may be tired of reading about the excitement I had at the Festival of Trees.

Just one more thing...

A part of the decorations and props surrounding the base of the tree was this mini wine barrel. I don't think it ever actually had wine in it, but it is adorable.

I shoved a bunch of packing paper in the bottom, chopped up some wood (birch would have been prettier, but I am not cutting down my trees), and added lights.

Et, voila! A beautiful lighted decoration. After we go tree hunting, I want to add pine sprigs. And additional pops of red.

Love Christmas - the lights, the smells, the music, the foods, the friends and family. Merry Christmas!

How about a little plug for Kameo Florists in Yakima? Didn't they do a great job on the tree and assorted accoutrements? Oui, oui!

Light Inspiration

I haven't been too inspired to decorate for Christmas. Must be brain overload, since I usually can't wait to decorate Thanksgiving Day - as soon as turkey leftovers are tucked into the fridge. I adore the lights and visiting favorite Christmas treasures as they come out of storage.

But this year...ho hum. Ornaments and decorations breezed through my fingers. Nope. Nope. Store it. Not this year. Hmmm. Maybe this one.

I even had Christmas music blaring - all 200 songs on the Ipod!

And then, white lights and crystal beckoned me. Inspiration struck.

Feeling more like Christmas is in the air. Especially with all of the burning candles and flickering lights.

Light is important. With the dreary, cold rain (or snow, please, yes, snow!) and shortened days, Christmas lights bring out the nostalgia and coziness of the Season.
